What You Need To Know About Using Urgent Care
If you're in need of an urgent care visit whether you're local or traveling, you have options that are covered under your medical plan.
Urgent care should be used for emergencies when unable to get in with your normal primary care provider or used instead of a visit to the emergency room.
*Important Note:
Any referrals from urgent care to a hospital needs to be coordinated with University Health Hospital System.
We are using Freedom Network Select for urgent care needs in the Kansas City area.
To find an urgent care facility please use the following steps:
Choose Freedom Network Select
Choose Urgent Care under Provider Type (see screenshot below)
Traveling and outside of KC area?
To find an urgent care facility while you're traveling and out of the Kansas City area use the following steps:
Choose PHCS
Make sure to have your insurance card available, as you'll need information from your card to find the right location
